ROMA – Il terribile incendio che ha devastato lo scorso 13 settembre la ICS Industria Composizione Stampati nel nucleo industriale di Pianodardine (Avellino), accende il faro sui rischi di una zona industriale che preoccupano i residenti di Avellino e della Valle del Sabato. A porre l’accento sul problema il senatore della Lega Claudio Barbaro (eletto nel collegio plurinominale Campania 1 – Avellino, Benevento, Caserta) che porta in Senato una interrogazione indirizzata ai ministri dell’ambiente e della tutela del territorio e del mare e del lavoro e delle politiche sociali.
«Assunta la portata tragica e gravissima dell’accadimento – scrive il sen. Barbaro – si è atteso il responso delle analisi e dei rilievi effettuati dalla Agenzia regionale per l’ambiente della Campania; con il passare delle ore e dei giorni l’ARPAC ha diramato bollettini sulla qualità dell’aria e sulla presenza di residui, polveri e qualsiasi altro elemento nocivo per la salute umana. […] Al messaggio “non preoccupante” che viene diramato alla popolazione sugli elementi aerei riscontrati, però, si associano ugualmente consigli e suggerimenti, come quelli di non consumare prodotti della terra e dell’allevamento provenienti dalle aree interessate».
Ma, se la situazione sembra ormai rientrata in seguito agli accadimenti, il sen. Barbaro sottolinea che «l’area è caratterizzata dalla presenza di numerosi impianti industriali, oltre che da un impianto di trattamento meccanico e biologico dei rifiuti (STIR) ed altri accadimenti, tra cui altri incendi, hanno nel tempo creato una situazione di grande patimento per i cittadini». Il senatore sottolinea, inoltre, come «il nucleo industriale di Pianodardine offre possibilità di lavoro, complessivamente, a diverse migliaia di persone, e in un territorio con un forte disagio occupazionale ciò non può non essere tenuto da conto».
Visto quanto accaduto, il sen. Barbaro chiede che sia il Governo a farsi carico, nel rispetto di tutte le peculiari competenze istituzionali, della vicenda di Pianodardine ed in genere della valle del Sabato e, come si legge nell’interrogazione, «si chiede di sapere [ai ministri Sergio Costa e Nunzia Catalfo] quali interventi siano stati intrapresi e quali si intenda intraprendere per: tutelare e bonificare l’ambiente in conseguenza del recente incendio della ICS di Pianodardine; informare e garantire i cittadini, residenti o lavoratori, in merito alle conseguenze della nube tossica; sostenere i lavoratori della ICS al fine di non aggravare questa tragedia ambientale anche dal punto di vista sociale».
